Hi.
Some time last week i finally made the big move up to The Attic. Plans to move had been made like over a month ago, as it used to be my brother’s room and he’s working in Penang now. But the actual implementation of The Move got on really slowly; partly because i wanted to decorate The Attic before moving in, partly because packing my life away into plastic bags (the un-glam version of big brown boxes) was tough & i hate spring cleaning, and partly because living right across from my sister is really fun and im gonna miss that :)
And then my brother came back home for the Raya holidays and is staying for a week; so long story short, here i am!
I gotta say, I’m really loving it up here. Feels much cozier and secluded – like my own little apartment. And best of all, there’s so much space! I can spin around in circles and still wouldn’t hit anything (i would know, i tried!). Unlike my old room, which is nice and all, but tiny.
Some shelves and stuff (and maybe an interior designer) are still needed, but for now, ive pretty much moved in and made myself comfortable already. Took some rough photos to share with you of my new living space; but not too many because you know, it’s personal or something.
So here it is: The Attic. In all its undecorated, messy glory.
I make my bed sometimes. Today is not one of them.

Some postcards from my penpal, lol. And oh my Nokia e71 on the table because my iPhone was stolen recently. I’m pretty zen about it right now because I’ve managed past the Denial, Anger, Bargaining, & Depression stages of grief; and am now at Acceptance.
Old books (mostly chic lit) i read as a teenager. I’ll admit i haven’t been reading as much as i should in recent years.
Some high school buku notas i kept all my doodles and scribbles when i wasn’t paying attention in class.
In-house snacks are pretty important in the attic; seeing as the kitchen just got that much farther. Seaweed flavoured anything, and sour plum yumyums.
Lonely plant in the bathroom. The other little plants and cactuses (cacti?) i got didn’t make it past a week.

Boxes of old stuff given/sponsored to me, back-dated Frankie magazines, and dSLR and Pets Lover magazines that i used to write for.
Can’t wait to pore through these old babies, haha. Mostly from primary school – early high school (before digital cameras were the in thing.)

Writing up this post gave me a slight deja vu sort of feeling – and then i just realized i did a similar post of my old room.
Dated March 2009. Over 2 years ago, gosh, my room was really messy last time!
And frankly it wasn’t in that much different a state as when i packed it all up a couple of weeks ago. hmm.

Surprisingly i’m perfectly fine with it, unless i start to give a damn.
… Something about me has changed.
Other things on my mind: a 2-year contract (currently i don’t feel good about making any commitments), reevaluating my understanding of “doing what i want vs what other people think is right”, and what to wear to that VERBAL & Yulia party @ Zouk tonight.
