SkyTrex Adventure
(Pictures courtesy of mine, and Xanne’s cam)
Clearly, my friends and I are getting a bit bored of the usual makan/yamcha/beers/clubbing sessions, and are looking for a new kind of adventure.
Someone mentioned SkyTrex the other day, and surprisingly, ALL of us were pretty stoked about it. Made a few phone calls and managed to make our group as big as 20-30 people!
To put things plainly, SkyTrex is an outdoors obstacle course through the jungle – but in the sky!
Imagine jungle trekking, but instead of trekking on the ground like normal people would, we’re abnormal people going about it in the sky. Swinging from tree-to-tree, walking on wires, that sort of thing. Sounds like fun

Loong, moi, and Dennis; having lunch beforehand!
We needed all the energy we could get, the day is gonna be a long workout!
A slight oversight on my part because I ended up a bit hungover that morning, thanks to that crazy Heineken Green Room party the night before. Heh :)

Mucking around while waiting for the bus.
Bernard, Dennis, Cynthia, Loong, Denise, Luxanne in the front. A hidden Aaren & Zyran at the back. And Chris flapping his wings!
And it’s so nice to see everyone dressed in sports wear, for a change!
Unlike our usual casual, or clubbing clothes.

Luxanne: This is my old school bag!
Me: ……can you even fit books in it?
Luxanne: No.

A lil’ marketing on the side of the bus

Gearing up at the site. Bryan’s always camera-ready ;)
At this point, can see all the boys getting a lil’ uncomfortable with their harnesses on. Too close for comfort to the family jewels, presumably.

*shift shift position*
When we’re all ready and set to go, we walked by this tall-ass-ladder up a tree, and went “whoa”
. This is the starting point?? And next to it was a signboard that says “Big Thrill Adventure”.
“Didn’t James sign us up for The Extreme Challenge, the highest level above Big Thrill? Omaigod.”
Suddenly, all our excited faces turned to worried ones.

Up, up, and awaaay

“OMAIGODWTFFF, DAMN HIGH WEIII”

Scaryyy

Here goes nothinggg

Hahahahah i love this picture ’cause it looks like Thomas is right about to slam into that tree ;p
Actually we all did at some point. Ha ha!

The grand view from above

Sook Ping & I taking a break on a tree. and Chris!

Chris & crazy Aaren wtf

damn champion, can smoke while walking on a wire wtf

The dreaded drums. We all agreed that this was the most difficult obstacle.
Feels like it’s gonna turn over all the time ;(

I got tangled in these ropes at one point, omg la I had the craziest time trying to untangle myself without plummeting to my death

Zyran & Chris!

We survived SkyTrex!
It was a wild ride, and some of us had to quit halfway, but otherwise it was bloody fabulous :)
I highly recommend it to anyone of you with an adventurous spirit.

Big thanks to James for organizing our group event!
Trust me, it wasn’t easy handling this big group of monkeys.

Great photos, funny how everyone so readily whips out their cameras 30 meters above the ground!
