My mind’s sorta been all over the place these past few weeks, even worse these few days, in the new month of December.
Tying up a few loose ends with work deadlines and a little bit of An Old Flame stuff (because work and professionalism always comes first right), mainly the dreaded ACCA exam season is here (like, this week in fact, gawshh) so there’s the studying, and the constant reminder to go study when I’m not studying. Bloody hell!

Gotta hate these bi-yearly June and Dec exam season when all hell usually breaks loose like this.

And in the midst of all that hoo-ha, i just realized i forgot to post up the “hello we are on a short hiatus” sign up on An Old Flame website this entire time. OMG major smacks-forehead moment. Will be back after the 18th when all this hullabaloo is over. No wait, right after that still must rush on all the Christmas shopping. BAAAH

Last week, i embraced my inner bimbo and watched New Moon with my sister (hahahahah you saw this coming, didntchu)
It was a damn great night too recently, Debbie and I haven’t been spending much time together because of “schedule clashes”, ie. she dumped me for La Senza T___T
But we chup-ed each other wayy in advance to go watch New Moon together. It was our thing to both laugh at, and swoon over, the Twilight phenomenon.

First thing’s first, I COULDN’T WAIT to watch the movie.

1. Partly yes, i read the book and wanted to see how it’ll be portrayed on the big screen. The Quileutes (team jacob wtf) emerges in this book, and also the Volturi coven!
And of course, more scenes of pretty boy Rob Pattinson, hot-bod Taylor Lautner, and gorgeous Ashley Greene wouldn’t hurt
I thought there totally wasn’t enough movie-time of Ashley in the first movie, what a damn shame. Oh okay, that Kristin Stewart’s not too bad either. Broody, and has nice hair.

2. Just to get it over with wtf.
Ok you must know one thing about me, I damn well hate spoilers.
Sometimes I think trailers are evil evil things, because once I’ve set my mind to watch a certain movie, trailers are 5 long minutes of all the highlights and damn evil spoilers!
And what with this crazy Twilight phenomenon, all around you there’s like a gazillion New Moon trailers, spoilers, snippets, Behind The Scenes action, Top 10 Vampires You’d Want To Bite You WTFF and im getting tired of always having to quickly switch TV channels for this, and this happens like every 5 minutes of TV time. MTV and E! channel were my sworn enemies for awhile.

I really think, if someone were to compile *all* the New Moon trailers and snippets out there, it would make up every single highlight of the movie. Nothing’s left a secret anymore.
Earlier in the year, the first trailer came out and we were all oooh. Then a couple more, and then the one at the MTV Movie Awards which i thought totally gave the entire storyline away. After that it’s like, geez is there anything you’re leaving us to watch in the movie? Where’s the fun in that! Knowing how the entire movie pans out before even watching it -_-

Soundtrack, awesome. One of the most important parts of a movie, IMHO.

Funnily enough, I kinda only prepared myself for the bimbo swoony moments of the movie, forgetting to prepare myself for a potentially awesome soundtrack. I mean, the first movie’s soundtrack was pretty great, too.
So I was a little taken aback when I heard Lykki Li’s croons in the background, which made me realize, “dayumm, this will make for a fantastic soundtrack, must listen out more”

And of course recognizing Ben Gibbard’s voice (Death Cab for Cutie) later in the movie. And duhh, Stephenie Meyer’s favourite band, Muse.

I’m loving that these are some of my favourite indie artists, all releasing new singles on the soundtrack!
And of course a couple of new unheard of ones, garnering some well-deserved attention.
OK Go is newly featured here, i dunno about you but the last time i heard of them they were dancing on treadmills like, 3-4 years ago.





On to the actual movie. I won’t bother discussing the storyline or anything because surely everyone’s pretty much watched the movie (some even more than once, I’m sure), or at least seen the many many trailers -_-

Just a couple of frivolous ditzy notes from 2 sisters’ point of view.


The 1st time Jacob took off his shirt, there were audible gasps and “whoa” all around from most female audiences, followed by their hushed giggly fits.
OK OK fine maybe i let out a little “whoa” too… Hey, he caught me off guard la.
And holy smokes, that body is 10 types of fine. I had to chant “he’s 17 goddammit” just to keep myself under control hmmn. Good on you, Taylor Swift.

But then the 2nd time, and 3rd time, and 123456789th time, i turned to Debbie, “My god, they take their shirts off a lot, dont they”
“not that we’re complaining, right”
…… right.


Oh and i find it kinda hilarious that when Edward took off his shirt, nobody made a sound.
“Hahahahaah not as great as Jacob’s”



The wolf boys keep on running too. Run run run everywhere they go, most of the time shirtless


In the end, for me, if it had to come down between Team Edward or Team Jacob…… i’d have to say TEAM DAMON SALVATORE wins by a landslide.
But I can’t be arsed choosing between Edward or Jacob. Both seem pretty darn fine from where I’m standing


p/s: Can’t wait for Eclipse next year. Just imagine. Both Edward and Jacob sharing the screen. Edward isn’t going away this time. But neither is Jacob. Bringing in those hunky wolf boys and the drop-dead-gorgeous (no pun intended) Cullen boys. Hello, quiet-shy-but-deadly Jasper. Hunky-sexy-grin Emmet. And my favourite is the papa bear, Dr. the-new-McDreamy Cullen.

Holy momma have mercy on us can.

   but omgawd la, Edward cullen is just too hot for a vampire, that mysterious look that unwashed hair.. omg. hahaha i dont care what people say about him being too pale in the movie, hotness.

   and that part where they played Lykke Li’s possibility - heartbreaking. i gotta say the soundtrack is indeed love <3 anya - satellite heart <3

   haha and I can’t wait for Eclipse too! just finished reading it, movie premiere is 30/06/10!!!! :D and im currently reading breaking dawn now.
   twilight FANGIRL! okay i should stop talking. can’t wait to see u!!

   sarah: hehehe ok slightly embarrassing fact: the moment i picked up Twilight the book, i couldnt put it down til i finished all 4 books. Last year, during exam (procrastination) time. Breaking Dawn is most interesting, r u done with it yet?
