Don’t you just hate it when you need something but don’t know where to find it,
but when you don’t need it, you remember seeing them everywhere?

Am currently on the hunt for plastic/cardboard boxes. Shouldn’t be that hard to find, right.
I feel like i see them everywhere, all the time. But really when you sit down and think about it, WHERE?

To make matters worse, i need the small-ish size, not those common large ones that hold computers/ printers/ beer crates. Small, but roomy enough to hold Fascinators that won’t smoosh the delicate feathers.

So i got the call from my supplier that the Fascinators we’re selling on An Old Flame have arrived onto Malaysian shores damn excited, i went over to pick up my new feathered friends, happily inspecting and admiring the precious lovelies when i noticed halfway, “Eh? Didn’t you say they come in boxes?”
“Sorry but they now come from Korea in one giant box”
Whaaat. Ok most of these are going to be mailed to my customers, some of which are overseas. I need boxes pronto!!

And so begins my quest in search of cardboard boxes, on a tight time crunch.

So i’m randomly thinking of places to check out, Tesco? Ikea? Those small kedai runcits sure got small cardboard boxes right? Later that day i was passing by Hartamas, and i decided to begin my adventure there.

Went into KK Mart and asked,
“Hi, umm, ok this might sound a bit weird, but do you have any spare cardboard boxes you don’t need?”
*flashes big smile*

KK Mart had none, and soon i ran out of kedai runcits to ask, so i tried other random shops i passed by that seemed to have potential - pharmacies, hardware stores, etc.

Some shops had spare boxes, but they’ve been thrown out as garbage, or by the drain. I do need those boxes urgently, but i wasn’t that desperate to go digging in trash anytime soon some were even wet from idontwannaknowwhatjuice. Sighhh. Talk about suffering for my work.

I managed to score some decent ones in the end, and hit jackpot at a hardware store when the guy told me his HQ was box-heaven, and he’ll fetch some for me the next day.

But okay, i think my door-to-door box-hunting days are over.

Seriously, if i knew of a place that sells these boxes, I’d be more than happy to pay for it.
But this batch of Fascinators is due to reach my customers asap, so i can’t be hunting for suppliers right now, too time-consuming, not for this batch at least.

Does anyone know where i can find these plastic/cardboard boxes, small-medium size?

From what we heard, there are boxes galore from the Avon shop in Amcorp Mall. They get a lot of products so that have plenty of discarded boxes. You can give it a try.
