AAR Concert @ Bukit Jalil
I know this is like, way overdue. But here are splashes of pictures of that awesome All-
American Rejects concert on Halloween.

Freaking alot of people.
One thing i have to say la. I thank God and all my lucky stars combined that i didn’t have to be in the crowd that night.
Firstly, they made us wait pretty damn freaking long for all the bands to come out. Let alone there were 3 bands opening before AAR!

Secondly, and quite importantly,
at one point i hung around the VIP/media section, which was a raised platform next to the ground audience. I was at the edge looking over and caught a whiff of that B.O. - phwoaaar.
*moves away quickly*
The intensity of the B.O. Crazy.
Sweaty, restless, growingly agitated concert-goers kept waiting for hours on end, x 10,000+ of them, all grouped up together in a confined space. Phwoar. B.O. super power
It’s not enough that we Malaysians rarely ever get good international gigs, but when we finally do, they make us suffer painfully for it?
damn terrible.

with David before he went onstage

Disagree finally starts the show!
When the gamelan group started playing the familiar opening tune, i went “ooh, Osaka!”
It was a pretty cool gimmick putting in traditional music instruments into their fast-paced, first single off their new album.

Extra picture because im biased. haha

Moots@Pop Shuvit working the crowd

One Buck Short
with their frontman Mooky hospitalized, they called upon other members of our local bands to step in for each song, which was a pretty cool concept :) Sam@Bunkface in the picture.
Digressing for a bit, I’ve always been wanting to catch Bunkface’ show! Heard they’re really good. And now i see that Sam is quite a looker, which has nothing to do with my wanting to watch them perform, of course. heh heh heh cough.
And *finallyyy*, AAR made the stage.

Tyson with his red indian hat for Halloween :p
They opened with crowd pleaser “Move Along” and everyone went ballistic. The crowd came to life, jumping and screaming, singing at the top of their lungs. The wait was really over!
Even at the front where the media stood, everyone went into a frenzy of taking pictures, from giant SLR cameras to mini mobile phones.
People in this area were quite maintain though, no crazy fangirl/boy squeals. But i still kept bouncing about, “Omaigod omiagod! When all you gotta keep is strong, move along, move along, like i know ya dooo!”

The crowd goes wild with their yellow clappy things
After a couple of songs, Tyson scanned the crowd for interesting Halloween costumes.
“I see a Jason mask right here”
“Over there, i see a witch! Oh wait… that’s a wizard. Not a witch. Sorry sir!”
“And over there i see…… what the heck are you supposed to be? The one with the tongue-”

“you have to be one of the scariest guys- or girl– i don’t know what the heck are you!”

The fella got damn excited, jumping and waving maniacally.
True that, its tongue was damn freaky, kept flying in and out of its mouth like those curly party blowers. Freakaay!

Tyson fkn sexaaay!
Red indian hat fallen to his eyes but sing on, sing on.

They played their older stuff like “Dirty Little Secret” and “Swing Swing” and “My Paper Heart”, which in my opinion, their older stuff was more poppy and bubbly. In translation, FUN! Maintaining our frenzied jumpy bouncy state, screaming the words along to the songs :)

Fans in the front all clad in glitter. Like Tyson Ritter was in MTV Worldstage!

Cannot emphasize on how sexy he is. Gaah.
Later for a slower song, Tyson went down to the crowd, singing to the fans. I cannot for the life of me remember what song it was because i was more preoccupied with the fact that he was like 2 feet away from me O_O hubba hubba.
Aside from the screaming fans on the left, and the swarm of shutterbugs and security on the right, of course. Hubba.

Tyson shaking hands/rubbing glitter all over the fans. Confirm won’t wash their hands for a week

It was a fantastic electrifying show. Full of singalongs and funny gimmicks, boy they sure knows how to work a crowd!
We left a little earlier to beat the traffic. We were headed to Zouk, and then a little birdie told us that AAR was heading to Zouk for an afterparty too, hmmn :)

And if you have time to blog-hop abit, do check out Debbie’s writeup on the AAR concert (written the very next day, not almost one month later, eh hehh.) She’s always my favourite concert-writeup girl because, a) she is passionate about music, and b) my gawddd she is such a crazy fangirl hahahahah hilarious :p Or maybe it’s only deathly funny to me because I’m related to her and can appreciate her wickid humour. Hmm. Big compliments here.
Nah debbie, drive some traffic to your blog abit. Kthxbye!
