Curves in all the right places.
For some reason, I’ve never been one to stick religiously to any particular brand of make up,
Partially because, yes i do get bored easily -_- i love experimenting with different brands recommended around and indulging in different pretty packaging
Hey, basic consumer behaviour ok. If it comes in a pretty box, we’re sold!
And partially also because, i haven’t found *THE ONE* yet. You know, that miraculous wonder-working one that makes you wanna stop fooling around with other brands and marry it for life.
So my Estee Lauder mascara I’m currently using has run out - okay, it ran out like 2 months ago. And though it has served me well, I’m still in search for THE ONE.
Which is proving to be a futile attempt
I’ve been testing out a couple of other brands, which all turns out to be utter rubbish. But then again i suppose i can’t fully blame them.
For you see, i am unfortunately blessed with extremely Chinese lashes -_- They’re okay in the length department, but it seriously lacks volume, and not to mention discipline wtf i have really stubborn lashes that can never hold a curl no matter what!
One of my most recent test-subjects, is the Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara.
It boasts up to 70% curlier lashes with voluptuous volume, 16-hour curl holding power, and a triple plump brush. Hey, if a mascara promises volume I’m all over it. And okay, maybe the pretty packaging has something to do with it too :)

And for once, judging a book by its cover really does pay off :)
I must say I’m really happy with this mascara! The formula is thick unlike some other brands which feels slightly “watered-down”, and upon application it also manages to feel light without weighting my lashes down.
Volume and curls are quite significant, so I’m a happy girl :)
Okok, I’m rubbish at before and after, step-by-step shots when it comes to mascara but this is the best I could do.

Hello.

Chinese eyelashes. pa. the. tic.

Curled with eyelash curler, but no mascara

After mascara
Voila :)
And best part of it all, despite being a non-waterproof mascara, this one wore well all day without smudges. I have yet to test out the 16-hour curl hold theory, but I wore this one for 6 hours and at the end they still looked like they did when I first applied it!
The applicator scared me at first, I’m more used to our traditional U-curve mascara wands so this one made me go “what the heck is this, looks like a mace”
But i tried it on and it really worked wonders :) The triple plump brush curves in which builds volume, and curves out to curl and separate your lashes.
I also really like that the brush is not too big or too small, and makes it easy to get the corner lashes and bottom lashes. Typical Asian lashes problem solved!

(Lol. I swear this wasn’t supposed to be such a lengthy post but i had so much fun i couldn’t help myself :p)
So in a nutshell, it does give volume, does curl, does lengthen, does stay on for hours. So it succeeds in just about everything it promises.
And what they don’t tell you, is the price range for such a quality product.
Retails at only RM39.90 at your general Watson’s pharmacies. Freakin’ steal.
