500 Days.
“ARGHH i wish someone would invent a gadget that captures my thoughts and writes it down for me!!”
I was driving Debbie to work yesterday when i very suddenly cried out loud, shocking her a little along the way, hee hee oops.
I don’t know it this happens to you, but my mind goes buzzing with random thoughts and ideas at the most inconvenient of times
Most of the time it’d be while I’m driving, or late at night tossing and turning trying to get some sleep. I always try to note down my ideas to review them at a later day and not forget them, but it’s proving difficult to keep writing them ALL down in my cellphone Draft Messages.
Though I’ve pretty much mastered the art of texting while driving without looking at the keypad,
my fingers doesn’t type as fast as my brain spews out the message. And not to mention it’s damn. bloody. dangerous.
I’ve said this before somewhere in my blog. A good 50% of my blog entries were drafted in my head long before i actually reach my laptop and write out the entire post. And most of the time, head-drafts goes into my cellphone drafts. That’s why you see Drafts titled “blog” all over the place.

Slow, i know, but David and i finally found time to watch 500 Days of Summer a couple of nights ago
featuring an all-grown-up-but-still-looks-exactly-the-same-to-me Joseph Gordon Levitt, and one of my all-time favourite actresses EVER, Zooey Deschanel.

(omg how pretty is she)
One (of the many) freakishly coincidental similarities David and i have in common, we both love Zooey to bits. I mean, of all the hot stunning Hollywood actresses out there, right. I remember him telling me she’s his favourite actress and I went, “WTF OMG I FREAKIN’ LOVE HER”
But okay yeah, so not the point
[SPOILER ALERT!]
At first, i was a little upset about the ending, that the two didn’t get together. I mean, how can righttt! Where got such thing wan, love story and the two don’t end up together
But then later i realized, this wasn’t your typical love story fairytale ending. This is about real life.
About love, minus the fabrication. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love. Girl doesn’t.

Sad to say, but unrequited love happens all the time in real life. But in the end you move on (eventually) and find somebody new named Autumn, and then Day 1 starts with her
Doesn’t mean you should forget your 500 memorable days of ups and downs with Summer :)

The movie brought up many issues about true love, and whether it exists.
Summer (Zooey) initially doesn’t believe in love and relationships – in her assertion, real life will always ultimately get in the way. While Tom (Joseph) on the other hand, is a firm believer in fate, destiny and finding your soulmate.
After the movie, it got David and I contemplating on our own beliefs. Whether love exists, or is it all made up expectations derived by the media, fairytales, and Hallmark greeting cards.
It also had us talking about fate and destiny. What would happen if I had chosen not to come for Zee’s show, that night we met?
Or considering that I rarely ever go on MSN. What made me go on MSN one particular night, when we talked about music til the wee hours of the morning?
Would things be different otherwise.

It’s nice having someone with the emotional maturity to have these conversations with
Oh. And David said, while watching the movie, Summer (Zooey) reminded him alot about me.
And here i thought, Wheee compliment of the century, Summer’s a million kinds of cuteness and funnies– Until he said, “You’re both absolutely crazy”
-_-
i dont know whether to take that as a compliment or not.
Ok so back to the movie. THE SOUNDTRACK IS A MILLION KINDS OF AWESOME.
I haven’t had the time to google the soundtrack just yet, but the moment i heard Carla Bruni’s voice in the movie, i knew i had to get the soundtrack
it’s on my To-Do List already, hehe.
And my favourite line of the movie. Strange as it wasn’t either of the main characters’ lines, but it was Tom’s friend who said this.
“Robyn’s better than the girl of my dreams…… she’s real”
Gotta go pack for Singapore, yet again.
Will come home and tell you all about it :) about last weekend, and this weekend’s trip!
