A Red Carpet Affair.
Friday night was the Sunway ACCA ball.
The days leading up to the ball reminded me a lot of my highschool prom. Though this was nothing like it at all :p
I was all kancheong for prom, planning every meticulous detail months before the event.
Tailor-making my dress, booking the hairstylist weeks in advance, spending ridiculous money on pretty much the whole outfit -_- which i only wore once on that night itself, grrr.
But for this Uni Ball, i barely gave it much thought. It was only when the SAC committee gave us our tickets on Monday only was i reminded, “Wait, you mean the ball is THIS Friday? 
“
Lucky thing i have a couple of unworn dressy-dresses in my closet. I ended up picking this creme lacey little number, thought i could play with it and go for the old hollywood glamour sort of look.
And then later on i found out, another lucky coincidence, the theme of the night was “Hollywood Night at the Oscars: A Red Carpet Affair”
With my rather dashing accessory Boyfriend in hand :) x
It was nice seeing everyone there though :) quoting Sofia, “3 generations of SAC members at our 3 tables.”
I’m not in the SAC (Sunway ACCA Club), but we’re all pretty tight. Try spending over 12 hours almost every day studying, eating, and sleeping at the Financial Counter study tables with each other, during exam period -_- see if going through that ordeal doesn’t make you “pretty tight”.

Junseong, one of my favourite seniors :) genius, and extremely patient at making me understand IAS’s
Rina@8tv and JJ@Hitz were emcees of the night,
played all sorts of silly games with the audience, and of course mandatorily ridiculed all those who made the stage *cough promkingandpromqueennominees cough*
The kings had to sing songs for their female lecturers (YOU GO, EDWARD!), and the queens had to create impromptu poems for the male lecturers.
SUPER. MEGA. LOL.
And i bet all those who wished they were nominated king and queen thanked their lucky stars that they weren’t in their shoes 
hehe. All in the name of good fun though!

One of the games that went on was “Guess That Themesong”
where they played famous themesongs (rather easy obvious ones, i might add), whoever runs up onstage first and says the name of that themesong wins a prize.
Happy Tree Friends, James Bond, Mission Impossible, etc, you get my drift. People dashed to the stage the second the song plays……
……EXCEPT FOR WHEN “How I Met Your Mother” PLAYED!!!
I was all flailing arms and “OOH! OOH! HIMYM! HIMYM!!! Why isn’t anyone running up there, how can people not know HIMYM!!!!!!11111one”
My friends at my table beckoned at me, “Go la! Go up there!!” butbutbutbutttt im shy like that *shy*
But how can! No one knew the HIMYM themesong??? BLASPHEMY. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE. i gotta represent, yo.
So i marched up there and answered. I distinctly remembered a moment where JJ said, “What? How i met your mother?? ..eh, ohh, you’re correct!”
i think the emcees themselves don’t know HIMYM. How can. How caaaannn. *upset* OH WELL YOUR LOSS.
And i got a RM10 Mcds voucher for all my representin’ troubles, so, can’t complain much.

So i finally get to watch the famous SamOhOh (as Shervin fondly calls him :p) perform. Not half bad, aye! Looking forward to their next performance :)
Best Dressed Female & Male, Mr. Teo Ee Sing, and Prom King & Queen
So yes, in addition to my RM10 Mcds voucher for apparently being the only person in the ballroom to know HIMYM, i also managed to bag the “Best Dressed Female” title. :)
I really can’t say much about that, other than i was super shocked, and i was halfway eating when they announced my name -_- like, that was how unexpected it was, i proceeded to stuff face when it was time to announce the winners.
Walking up the stage, all i could think about was Please don’t make me create poems for people, or sing songs.
Then they announced Jonming as Best Dressed Male and we couldn’t stop laughing at each other
And OF COURSE, Edward bagged Prom King :)
I…… don’t know the girl who won Prom Queen.
So okay, we didn’t have to create poems or sing songs, but they did make us wear those ridiculous pageant-y sashes -_- shy enough la, alright?
But i got a sweet CK Heat perfume and a giant bouquet for all my troubles, so, can’t complain much. :)
I giggle whenever i see this picture. LOL. *cue pageant hand-wave and loves world peace*
By the way. I’m not giving away much yet, but…… my creme lace dress?

Love the dress, I have one with the same feel, but mine’s spaghetti strap black with white underneath and doesn’t have the full skirt.

It surprises me how few people actually watch HIMYM!!! Super funny series!!!! Oh but it hardly surprises me that you do, after all, haven’t we ALWAYS happened to watch the same series, like the same songs, have the same favourite ice cream??? =p
