Last Saturday was one of those days that turned out randomly crazy for me,
because while you slept in that morning, possibly getting over Friday night’s hangover, I was sitting in class from 9am – 7pm. Yes, on a Saturday -_-
Oh you should know me by now to know that I never joke about these things!
Closing in to the end of class, my stressed and brain-dead self looked forward to the Heineken Green Room event later at night. …..gawdd, i need that beer. -_-

Despite that, I still kept in mind that Earth Hour was tonight!
I reminded my mom to switch off all our lights at 8.30pm, had dinner, and quickly rushed to get dressed.
8.30 on the dot, my mom walked into my room, smirking. “Shouldn’t you be switching off your lights too?” :)
-_- dammit.
I couldn’t think of any clever comebacks, as I guiltily held up my mascara wand looking in the mirror. Touché, mother.
So I quickly dumped all my necessities into my purse, switched off my lights (and laptop, and air-cond, and fan) and stumbled down the stairs in the dark -_-
8.30 on the dot too, Kelvin’s car was parked outside my house. Why is everybody suddenly so punctual on Earth-Hour Day!

Am still compiling the pictures of that night at Heineken Green Room, be patient ya ;)

Meanwhile, I get to blog a little about previous incidents and backlogged events I’ve been meaning to post up, because I haven’t been efficient in blogging lately! (and time management) ;(

:+:+:

A few weeks back, a few bloggers were invited to The Tavern @ GAB

And while I kept in mind that I’ve seen that giant GAB (Guiness Anchor Berhad) factory/brewery a few times along Federal Highway, I never actually knew where the entrance was.
Plus, I almost *never* ever use the Federal Highway to get to anywhere, so I made sure I got proper directions to the factory/brewery this time!

But I got sooo lost, it wasn’t funny maaan. T___T

Turns out that one of the (most crucial) roads was closed off, which made my directions completely useless T___T

I drove around and read signboards, but freaking hell, Malaysian signboards are quite useless also lor sometimes T___T

Plus the evening traffic jam T___T omaigod, thinking about it and reliving the moment all over again makes me stressed.

I called CarolNuffnang for more directions, numerous times, with numerous versions from many other people near her as well. All times also fail T___T

My last phone call to her was in my most distressed state. “Carollll, sorry if I’m super late, but if I lose my way any moreee I wanna go homeeee.” T___T

And just as she was calming me down, THERE IT WAS. The entrance to GAB!
To me, it looked more like the pearly gates of heaven T___T hallelujah

Feeling particularly black&white;
with my B&W checkered leggings, B&W starry scarf, black tank top, black (giant) bag, black heels, white hairband, black & silver accessories.

I arrived (the latest -_-) and said my helloes to everyone.

Kenny soon piped out, “Haha so YOU’RE the one who got lost and kept calling Carol non-stop!”

-_- “Yesss and if I got any more lost, I would have gone home already. Argh, I so need a beer right now.”

Not many people know this (well neither did I!), but there is a pub called The Tavern that resides within the GAB compound, not so much open to the public, but serves FREE freshly brewed beer for their employees! How awesome is that!

Before this, I half expected a tour inside their brewery or something. But then I found out we were called together to simply meet up, relax, and unwind after a long day, over freeflow of EXTRA COLD Heineken beer ;)

EXTRA COLD with an outer layer of ICE please.

Have to put that in big caps lettering because I was so amazed la
You see, while I do enjoy my fair share of beer, I don’t quite enjoy it as much once it gets warm or room temperature. As I’m sure most people feel the same way, so beer must usually be consumes fast, before it gets warm

But we were served with this EXTRA COLD icy beer goodness that stayed icy fresh for a really long time, allowed me to really enjoy my drink long and through! Pint after pint of freeflow

I dunno, maybe I haven’t been to enough bars or don’t notice these things, but these taps of Heineken EXTRA COLD aren’t available just *anywhere*, right? Or is it?

Please let me know if anyone comes across it! Normal beer just isn’t the same anymore…..

Halfway, we were even challenged to see who can pour the perfect pint.

Now, you would think pouring a pint of beer would be easy, (we’ve all seen the bartenders do it effortlessly!) but oh nooo, it’s much harder than it looks! The whole lot of us tried.

The strapping confident men went up first.

KY tries, but also to no avail :)

Wah, can’t be that hard, can it? I wondered to myself.
I volunteered myself to go up next, to see if a woman’s touch is needed here

It was going pretty well, until at the end I sing-cued with the handle and the tap didn’t turn off! beer ended up
overflowing from my pint, which should warrant me an epic fail. -_-

Cindy did the best among all of us, and no overflowing which made us girls proud :) and the boys unsatisfied by their defeat, lol.

I learn to pour beer last a year and a half ago. Also different country would prefer more or less foam. Some would prefer none. If you head to brewery factories it will be more fun to learn more about beers especially when you get to do the tasting.

the umbrella looks really familiar! I saw it from Cameron Highlands. There were heaps of them.

Traclyn: true! a malaysian friend living in ozzie told me he got teased a “chinaman” for pouring beer with very little foam there. Apparently them ozzies like their foam :p
