Girl’s Day Out!
I’m back from my weekend in Singapore!
Feeling a tad under the weather though, I somehow managed to get myself a mild cough and sore throat while I was on holiday :/ but nevermind that.
Will blog about Singapore soon!
:+:
Remember I mentioned a little snippety something about a Girl’s Day Out a couple of weeks back? The one where I got (amongst other things) a gorgeous french manicure for freee?
*clickkk!* :)
I was one of the lucky 8 female bloggers invited for this Maxis Broadband Girl’s Day Out!
You would think that perhaps putting together a whole bunch of strangers together might be a bad idea (girls, especially), I mean, we’ve all watch America’s Next Top Model and all the drama that unfolds.
But not us! The 7 other girls invited for this event are real sweethearts, so easy to get along with, and not to mention a friggin’ hilarious bunch

Cindy, Ringo, Audrey, moi, Kak Red, Karen, Jolene, Kimberly
And those small cute floral bags we’re holding? Well,
You won’t BELIEVE what’s in them ;)
Go on, make a guess! No really, GUESS!
The answer will be revealed shortly in this post, so keep your guesses in mind! ;)
:+:
First stop? DIAMONDS.
Well, they aren’t called a girl’s best friends for nothing ;)
We stopped by My Diamond, Pavillion to be with our shimmery glimmery best friends @__@
and the nice ladies at the shop gave us some pointers on how to choose diamonds. The 4Cs! Cut, Carat, Clarity, and Colour.
Which would’ve been a more suitable lecture for our boyfriends, innit? Since they’re the ones who’s gonna be buying us those pretty sparkly things next time
heee.

Boys!! Click, enlarge, and READ. :)

And then this one SUPER GORGEOUS necklace caught my eye… @__@

A diamond rose necklace. Which matches my (plastic) rose earrings! @__@
And I was suddenly very aware that I had RM10,000+++ around my neck. Hmm.

Kak Red bought herself a pair of RED diamond earrings too!
And back to our small cute pretty floral bags we were holding, remember those?
We got to play around with WHAT’S INSIDE for awhile ;)
Damn. Fricking. Classy.
Frickin’ small and sleek and I was in sheer amazement when I saw the actual size.
And it came with Maxis Broadband included with the laptop, so we had internet access literally everywhere we went!
I’ve often heard of complaints when it comes to the connection speed, but we encountered none of that :)

The girls and their respective blogs ;)
:+:
Next up!
We went on over to Stage, Pavillion for a make up session
Good god, this part was so much fun.
For those of you who have not heard of Stage Cosmetics, fret not. It’s a new high-end home-grown brand, and I’d grade it on the similar level as MAC Cosmetics and such.
Make up expert John guiding us through the workshop.
And Step 1 was to REMOVE OUR CURRENT MAKE UP.
All 8 of us girls looked at each other with worried looks, also very aware that we had photographers all around us to capture this moment
hahaha.
John make up extraordinaire was a great help, he certainly knew his stuff and we got to ask him all sorts of questions on make up and the techniques. I for one am more used to using a sponge when applying foundation, but he recommended using a brush instead! Hmm.

Tah-daa :) The before and after shot.
Day make-up only okayyy, don’t be expecting some dramatic night make-up
Photoshoot with our make-up guru John :)
:+:
We then mosied on over for lunch @ Thai Express, Pavillion.
Here, we got to settle down from all the excitement and catch up on some conversation.
And I know came in today with my full-on thick lush bangs straight down,
but after having clipped up my bangs during the 4 hours spent at Stage prior, I left my hair side-parted that way lah

Spotted! Susan’s baby daughter having a go at the Dell Mini 9 :)
:+:
Next up on the agenda was SHOPPINGGG!!!!111
How can we have a Girl’s Day Out without shopping on the itinerary? ;)
We made our way to Cats Whiskers, Hartamas for some retail therapy.

and Audrey ran straight to the pinks section

Temaning Darren while he patiently waited for us girls to run amok
And can I say something please. The white floral cocktail dress that I’m wearing in this picture? DAMN NICE RIGHT?!!
SIGH. There you have it ladies, go buy it quick at Cats Whiskers. I think it’s so super stunning but I promised myself I’d refrain from buying anymore dresses because I have more than enough. SIGH.
So I pranced around the shop in this dress for much longer, took pictures of me in it and called it a day la :) and bought tops and accessories and other non-dress stuff. Why oh why am I so disciplined.

Having internet access literally everywhere can be really convenient :)
:+:
After the buzz and excitement and shopping up a storm, we could really use some rest by then. Good thing our next stop was The Nail Shop @ The Curve for a manicure-pedicure session :)
And I’ve mentioned this before, this was my very first time having a mani pedi professionally done
And I went on and wrote a full post on my mani pedi session hahaha :p *click* What an excited happy customer I was :)

Ringo and Audrey choosing pretty nail art
Cindy and I opted for the classic French Manicure.

Jolene and her colourful nails, matches her personality!

Goo goo eyes Audrey and her nail art. Reminds me of pink Super Mario mushrooms ;p
:+:
Last stop after the sun has gone down, dinner at The Apartment @ The Curve.
Tim from Nuffnang, and Susan from Maxis joined us for dinner :)

Ringo and her new gold-dust nails :)

Give a bunch of bloggers internet access where ever we go, and you know we’ll fully utilize it! ;)
That’s all for now!
Rest assured, all 8 of us can agree that this has to be one of the most fun advertorials we’ve ever done!
Thank you, Nuffnang and Maxis :)
