Was in college earlier this week to get some hardcore studying done in the library.
Despite it being the end of the year and all, the place never looked so packed. All classes and lectures are pretty much over, but the entire college premises is still crowded.
Not only in the library! Any area with tables chairs and sufficient lighting, you’ll see them all occupied by stressed-looking students studying for finals.

And easily, a vast majority of them are ACCA students.

Was chatting with Farhan, an old ACCA classmate of mine, and he made this statement.

“Do you realize this? It is because of ACCA that we’ve come to really hate the month of June and December.”

We laughed at this statement, laughed at our own misery is more like it,
because it is so true!

“One month before that also, May and November! The hardcore studying month.” Chris said.

2 semesters every year, end with the final exam in June and December.
Both times of the year, you’ll see stressed out students crowding up the entire college premises with books and notes galore, and files thicker than the encyclopedia. (oh, I wish I was exaggerating.)

Sighh. And I really used to love the month of December, and November too!

Because Jingle Bells! Christmas is coming ah, my favourite time of year.

By early or mid-November, I’d be merrily planning out the Christmas presents I’m buying for my friends
We’d plan out where we’d celebrate Christmas that year, because our group *always* celebrates Christmas together. Whether it’s partying it out big time, or a quaint gathering at someone’s house
My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but we’ll decorate the Christmas tree and have a simple Christmas dinner anyway
I’ll look forward to visiting the shopping malls to see the decorations in all it’s splendor
and the Christmas carols!!! :D :D :D I love Christmas music!!!

I love Christmas. Christmas usually lasts from November til… well, til friggin’ Chinese New Year for me

Or at least it used to.

Ever since ACCA happened, it’s hard to focus on anything else other than studies during the final months to exams.

But after the 2nd week of December, when all exams are over, then I’ll have all of that.

The Christmas carols and Christmas presents and Christmas TV specials and Santa Hats and mistletoe and I’ll try to dress in reds and greens as much as I can, heee I’ll have all of that after the 2nd week of December.

Oh I can’t wait til after that 2nd week of December.

(edit: HEE HEE i just remembered this! Last year Jonming and some other study-until-psycho people came to college to study, as usual, but that day they all came wearing SANTA HATS! All of them! Seriously! Damn zhat cute wei!
Psycho or not, it’s good to know the Christmas spirit is not lost on us ACCA students )

   Accounting in practice is boring enough, what more discussing the theoratical aspects of it. The only time its interesting is when you learn about fraud and realise how to beat the system/controls…

   but anyway, have fun studying!
