Somewhere in my shopping list is the need to buy a new lipstick.
I reckon it’s been on the list for too long now, I just never found the time to properly hunt down the best lipstick in the world that, and I’m so used to using lipbalm all the time anyway

So when I was first asked to do this advertorial on Maybelline and make up, I was thrilled! Right up my alley, aye
And then I found out the product was the Maybelline Watershine 3D Collagen lipstick and I swear it was meant to be la

I was invited to their Maybelline make up party too (whee!!) but I wasn’t in the country so I missed it T____T (booo!)
No girly get-togethers and free lipstick for meee
But no matter, I went out to purchase one for myself and it was only RM28.90, and reallyyy worth my money spent

Bought mine in shade 401 ’cause it’s a nice reddish pink

To be frank, I never really use lipstick everrr.
I find most lipsticks to be very dry compared to lip balm, and it’s on my shopping list only because I just want to complete my make-up collection
My lips tend to be dry and chappy most of the time (oh woe is mee) so I use lip balm instead, especially those fruit-based ones with sheer colour, and it makes my lips look plump and juicy *kiss*

But the problem with lip balm is that the colour is often too light, especially for the night time.

So at night I use coloured lipstick and add on a layer of sheer lip gloss for that juicy pouty look. Which serves me fine, only thing is I have to use the two separately for that one effect.

Is there no one lipstick out there that can give me vibrant colour, and moisturized juicy lips? *wails*

Maybelline to the rescueee

Then i was told that the Maybelline Watershine 3D Collagen lipstick not only has a wide array of vibrant colours, but it solves the problem of dry lips and visible lip lines!
I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking it’s too good to be true to have the best of both worlds.
But I thought heck it’s worth experimenting ;) meet my lab rat.

Hello face

BEFORE picture: Very blahh-looking naked lips :( *unkiss*

AFTER picture: Lush!

Look at the after picture! I was in sort of a disbelief myself, I did not use any lip gloss or pout my lips or use photoshop I wouldn’t know how to photoshop on so much volume and shine to my lips ok

Apparently the Maybelline Watershine 3D Collagen is made up of pure water and aqua-collagen ingredients for ultra-moisturized, water-soft, smooth lips.
And it contains bubble-shaped shine molecules that give off a multi-dimensional shine that helps amplify colour, to salvage my small blahh-looking naked lips! :)

Because it’s so hard to believe in miracles, I started thinking maybe normal lipstick has always been this amazing, and I was just too blur to notice.
But nooo, I compared it and voila! Whee, Maybelline so shiny <3

And don’t think the shine won’t last, this baby has a new shine lock-and-release formula that allows shine to be reactivated by pressing lips together! :) Ah, don’t we love scientifically proven theories

*presses lips together*

This is a real lifesaver since I’ll be heading out tonight ;)

Some make up tips while getting ready for a Girls’ Night Out!

I was about to plunge into this full post on make up and the works, then I realised my knowledge is pretty basic,
and professionals Paint Me Gorgeous and My Women Stuff have already done up a simple yet extensive post on it! Clickclick to learn from the pro’s themselves! ;)

Okay I’m no professional make up artist, but I reckon I’m doing okay with the general techniques
And no, not because I’ve had so much practice from all the night parties I’ve been attending roar ok maybe that did help a bit

But to be frank, I learnt everything about make up through dance.

Contrary to popular belief, but dancers rarely ever get make up artists to do their make up, you know :)
As a freelance dancer you have to prepare your stuff, from the choreography to costumes to make up (stage make up to be exact), the whole shebang.

I remember my first few times putting on stage make up, having learnt along the way from veteran dancers, I always hated it
Stage make up needs to be really thick, over the top, ka-poww, exaggerated,
mix that up with my supernoob skills, and I always end up looking like I kena tumbuk meh.
But after a few shows I got the hang of it

I realised what works for other girls will not necessarily work for me.

Which has to be the most crucial make up tip I can give anyone, because there are so many make up techniques out there, more often than not they differ from the rest.

It’s definitely a learning process, but then again what isn’t? ;)

Oh, and there’s a really simple contest going on at My Women Stuff and they’re giving out the miracle lipstick as prizes ;) hurry and participate! *click*

*happily crosses off my shopping list*
