Wah I’ve never been so proud to be Chinese before.
Although I’m Malaysian Chinese not China Beijing Chinese but OH you know what I mean!
(Although my grandma was from China so technically that makes me a quarter China– ok i’ll stop now)
Did you see the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony performances today. Yaa maan. Soo. Frickin. AWZOMM.
Half the time I sat there staring at the spectacle of human harmonization in sheer AWE.
The other half I troubled myself thinking How do they do that! How do they synchronize a buzzillion peoples’ movements with such precision! It practically looked like CGI! How do they move those boxes up and down in a patternized manner for 20 whole minutes with PEOPLE in them! I thought they were controlled by machines! How can PEOPLE control that, they can’t see shit outside their boxes!
Okay, you’d really have to see it to know what I’m yapping about. :)
And the scroll. Wth wei damn cool right!
And yeeees, I know it’s a Friday night and you’re thinking, Eh cynthia not out partying on a Friday night WAH what day is it today so auspicious must go buy lottery
(didyougetthepun didyougetthepun
)
Wth wei, even one of my customers of CSC said to me “Wah i didn’t expect you to reply so soon, i thought you’d be out partying”
oye, what is this la
And last week my dad specifically requested for my attendance for a family dinner *this* weekend,
he was just being sarcastic la but okay I feel really bad, I realise I haven’t been home for weekend dinners since I came back from Melbourne.
So I decided to play the good daughter card today, stay home and watch the Olympics opening ceremony with the family :)
Especially for my dad too, he loves all these sports ceremonies,
plus he’s fascinated with China’s history and everything ok seriously, the dude knows every legend every emperor of every dynasty wtf wow HE’S the fascinating one la
But yea okay. Anyhoos. China Olympics performers. Fuiyoo. Siao.
But then again, I went to Beijing a couple of years ago and saw this small-time acrobatic performance for tourists and it blew my mind too.
Then my dad (in his smug as-a-matter-of-fact-I-know-everything-about-China tone, heh,
he was using it a lot during that trip) told me a lot of people in China train for singing, dancing and performing all the way since they were kids.
So.
Of course damn pwnz la.

I only managed to catch the late half of the opening ceremony. Was supposed to go to the Curve to watch it on the big screen there but I got caught in a massive jam so by the time I got there, I only managed to see all the countries marching out one by one for a full hour or so.
Ish… what a waste.
