(Caution, this is gonna be a long picturefool one.
Pictures taken off own camera and all over Facebook.)

Ah, last weekend’s ThreadsZoo junksale was exhausting, but so worth it ;)

I knew this was gonna need way more effort than simply selling my stuff online, but gawd, preparing for it last week was ridiculous!
Partially thanks to last minute surprise extra classes all over the place thereby throwing off my carefully planned schedule for all the necessary preparations
The decor, the furniture, designing price tags (hey, presentation is important, non?),
the printing of price tags (my printer busted), the selection of items to sell, the pricing, the tagging, the packing, etcetcetctecetc omg I get stressed just re-thinking about it.

Big fat thank you to sisterDebbie who helped me much with the tagging and packing (against her own will) and Aaven for driving all the way to my house from his very-far-away home to lend me his clothes rack
And Brian, Yik and Kumar, for rescuing us damsels in distress and did all the heavy furniture-carrying
I am eternally grateful you have no idea.

The turnout was great, and frankly speaking much better than I expected
We were scheduled to open at 11am on Saturday, but people were arriving as early as 10.45am. Most of us vendors were still busy setting up by then!

By late noon it was really starting to fill up, and by evening sardine-packed. It came to a point where Hannah and I were kicked out of our own booth, what with all the people rummaging through our stuff
So was I lah, rummaging through other vendor’s stuff
Like say, see this brown chunky bangle in the picture below?

It was going for RM5 bucks. Cheap ka beh hiao kong.
And I could have sworn I saw the exact same one selling for RM25 elsewhere.
I merrily ran back to my booth to get my wallet, and by running I mean slipping through the massive crowd and dodging in between people, had to layan some customers at my booth for a few minutes first then when I got back to the earlier shop, I saw the vendor placing *my* brown chunky bangle into a plastic bag sold to another customer NOOOOOOOO.

Damn emo wei sisleyyy, damn emo.
And that was the first of a series of near misses, sigh gotta be quicker than that at a junksale.

But as it got more and more crowded, I felt lesser and lesser air-conditioning
Sweat baby, sweat.
I’m not usually known for my tolerance to crowded people in confined spaces, lack of air-conditioning, ventilation, heck lack of oxygen, and the occasional B.O,
but this time round I was really having too much fun to notice (too much)
And we vendors had to stay there for more than 10 hours, so really, I think it’s a mind over matter thing!
So many people to meet, so many customers to attend to, so many things selling so cheaply!

Speaking of cheap pricing, I still can’t believe I sold my Guess handbag for RM32. Stupid ka beh hiao kong wtf.
I think I was pricing my bags really late at night too sleepy too blur.
Some of my stuff i price so low, some of them got overprice also lah SIGH rookie mistake!

This pair of red Topshop suspenders was going for RM25.

Jumping on the band wagon.

Vendors and their treasures!

Me with Dee, front woman of this ThreadsZoo shebang :)

Neighboring vendor Elynor and little Arina.

The performance on Saturday.

with Souldoctor Janet Lee :) sunday.

Some customers stayed at the junk sale only for awhile, perhaps couldn’t take the heat,
but other stayed for hours and hours
Some took a coffee break in between, then returned to continue their quest for hidden treasure,
and some even came both Saturday and Sunday
Which is good, some of the vendors including myself stocked up for Sunday.
The friendly Janet Lee hung out with us whole lot on both days, and Sunday she even brought some of her shoes to sell

Toight butt mochachino, mmm mmn.

Quiet time.

Sunday was a tad quieter than Saturday, maybe because it rained cats and dogs in the lat
e afternoon.
There was some quiet time which most of us appreciated, after the previous day’s frenzy.
Vendors had more time to properly rummage through each other’s stuff and I found a few treasures myself :)
Got to properly chat and socialize with the vendors, and we took picture-taking to a whole new level :p

Cheeky Dee on the right.

Arina so precious <3

Happy uncle :)

My artwork and doodles still resembles my kindygarten days doodling and daydreaming.

Aiyo!

Hannah, me and Esti :)

Can’t wait for the next junksale.
Though I may or may not be a fellow Zookeeper in the next one, ie. selling my wares (should be clashing with exam season)
I’ll definitely want to check it out anyway, as a Zoo-goer :) fantastic stuff.

I’m really glad all this junk sale gathering business is getting more and more popularized here in Malaysia, it’s a lifestyle we should not be missing out on.
I spoke to some of my friends and I was shocked to hear that they are unfamiliar with this idea of secondhand shopping and dirt cheap treasure hunting! It’s such a shame to be missing out.
But no worries it may still be new to some people, but I foresee a phenomenon coming up.
With the established likes of Lapsap junksale and the ThreadsZoo, and maybe soon new ones will emerge,
heck perhaps the phenomenon has already begun
