I Like Cheese.
I came home tonight and proceeded to download a whole bunch of songs that I never thought I’d see in my playlist.
A bunch of songs that, when played on the radio I would naturally switch radio stations. Ok maybe layan for awhile, but will eventually switch radio stations.
A bunch of songs I otherwise only layan during English karaoke sessions.
Sappy oldies, Light & Easy love songs.
You know how record companies used to compile a few of these and brand the CD “Now! That’s What I Call Music 9″
and I never understood how those things could sell, well there’s a Part 9 so they must be selling like hotcakes right.
Anyway.
So yes, I am downloading them because, they were playing loads of these tonight at dinner, and I actually enjoyed it
and I want to relive the moment wtf.
Damn layan + puts-you-in-the-mood + mushy + cheesy all at the same time, it actually became a good thing!
When a good song starts playing, our conversation stops for a moment, and we lock eyes and smile :)
The two of us silently turning to mush.
When I think back about the night, look at the pictures and think rationally,
my Valentine’s Day could be defined as a total cheese-fest.
But tonight, I am not rational.
My usual, more cynical take on all things Valentine’s seem to have dissipated,
all there’s left is the hopeful optimistic, borderline annoyingly romantic me.
Who enjoyed the flowers.
And the dim lights.
The candles.
The wine (and your beer – some things never change ;)
All that red, pink and white V Day deco.
The chocolate fountain.
The sappiest love songs.
The song dedication booth.
Your song dedication :)
They even had one of those instant photographs taken of you and your date having-fun-only-here-at-Souled-Out souvenir thingies to take home
Wah, damn cheesy! But oh look I’m lapping it all up
But isn’t this the very epitome of Valentine’s Day?
Flowers, candles, chocolates, cheesy music, holding hands, stolen kisses – you know, the whole shebang of mushy nonsense
More importantly, precious time spent with the boy who turns me into mush any other day.
It’s 4 in the morning and I’m blogging all this now, before I wake up tomorrow morning and the magic cheese goes away. The normal me might delete this post altogether, heh.
Happy Valentine’s Day, people :)
May yours be as sweet, memorable and full of cheese
because in the moment of it all, cheesy is perfection.
