He Lives in the Mountains.
Last Sunday was Brian’s family’s Chinese New Year open house at the new house in Putra Heights.
And my first time driving all the way to Putra Heights.
I’ve been to his new house before; he drove me there once but since when was I ever fantastic with directions and urmm, other reasons lah.
But I couldn’t expect him to drive me all the way there and back, he was the host!
And the journey alone would already take up half the time of the party
My father, being an absolute Papa one day, gave me one of his interrogation sessions while I watched TV, so my replies were pretty nonchalant and typical daughter leavemealone replies la.
“How are you going to the party?”
“I’m driving.”
“Alone?”
“Ya.”
At night?”
“Mmn.”
“Where is it?”
“Putra Heights.”
“What?”
“It’s go straight pass Taipan then reach edi.”
He kept quiet and walked off – end of concerned parent interrogation.
Or so I thought.
“Where is it, I don’t see it!”
I turned around and there he was, standing at a table clutching a map.
And I burst out laughing
WHY IS MY FATHER SO CUTE.
To be frank, my “go straight pass Taipan then reach edi” directions was far from accurate.
That’s only Step 1 of the full directions, but that was all I remembered from the first time Brian drove me there.
It’s more like, go pass Subang, pass Taipan and go allllllllll the way straight til the end, then after a lot of T-junctions you’ll see a mountain.
He lives beyond that mountain.
No really, those were his instructions to me over the phone while I was driving to the house.
“At the T-junction turn —. Then the next T-junction turn —. (i really cannot remember the directions anymore) Do you see the mountain now? Right, ok I live behind that mountain.”
“B, where the hell are you taking me?!”
Damn bloody panic.
And it being a new place and a friggin’ mountain and all, the reception was bad and the line kept cutting off. How to not panic I ask you.

Allyssa & Kumar and nobody in the background.

All smiles! It’s the Average Joe
Yick, Kumar and the gang arrived late, sat at our table and piped,
“Whoa, Brian. That was one helluva long drive wei.”
“Ahem.”
“……..!!! Whoa shit! Cynthia you drove all the way from Bandar Utama right!”
*through gritted teeth* “Yeees. So don’t complain please.”
“Shit wei, we came from Subang and that was already the longest drive ever. But you came from friggin’ Bandar Utama!”
What to do when the boyfriend lives in the mountains.

Thiathia, Melissa, Wilson, Steven, and uhhh.

Last night was Eujin‘s annual CNY open house big bonanza,
where every year without fail his family will celebrate the festive new year besar-besaran melampau
And every year there will be amazing caterers serving amazing food, and it is a downright blasphemy to miss out on this amazing once-a-year-only food fiesta bonanza tradition!
Ok la as you can see i might be a tad exaggerating, just throwing in big bombastic bonanza words,
but cannot wei, the food is like, MMM enaknya!
That lamb, right! Oh that infamous lamb!
And satay and curry mee and ASSAM LAKSA.
Andandand ais kacang and kuih-muih belaka,
and that darned bottomless pit of beer, wine and whiskey
*hic*
I arrived late-ish and the gambling session started already,
Gambling while eating is quite a fun thing to do yah :) multitask.
I’ve already had dinner at home but heck it is a BLASPHEMY to not eat at Eujin’s open house,
so I filled my plate up nicely with lamb :)
Then CherJeen wanted assam laksa and so did I :)
Then then I wanted dessert – ais kac
ang Yay!
But the ais kacang stall was closed BOO.
I didn’t feel like going back to the gambling table empty handed, so err, I went for another hefty round of lamb :p
WOH damn full and prosperous after that
No pictures taken at Euj’s open house
Because good food is so distracting.
Aaaand,
my lucky magic mushroom was winning me the moolah

Worn to Eujin’s.
And this hairstyle always makes me feel like posing maut.
