Bangkok Sight-Seeing.
Was on the phone with Chris one evening.
“Hey, not going to —’s house to gamble tonight?”
“Nah not tonight. I’m at home doing the OBU assignment now.”
“…..you’ve started on it already?”
“Yeah?”
“……but, deadline next week Monday only, right?”
“It’s 3500 words wei.”
“Butbutbut…… oh shit. Should I go home now.”
Ah, nothing like good ol kiasuism and peer pressure to make you feel downright guilty.
Although I still feel that there’s enough time to complete it, that nagging voice in the back of my head chanting you-are-going-to-fail-you-are-going-to-fail wouldn’t go awaaay -_-
And then I lost money gambling that night, heh. It’s a sign!
So I scheduled one full day of today to do my OBU thesis,
knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it all in one day but hey, maybe half could be done?
Woke up at 10am and made myself a cuppa coffee,
Checked my mail, Facebook and various blogs, (read: procrastinating)
Made myself another cuppa coffee,
Read more blogs, (read: ditto)
Picked up and studied my mentor’s notes,
Read some samples,
(Attempted to) Read my targeted company’s Annual Reports (3 years under review)
Opened Microsoft Excel,
Realised the last time i opened Excel was years ago and am now damn rusty,
Fiddle-diddle with many buttons and confused myself further,
Decided to uninstall my terlalu canggih Microsoft Office 2007,
Wanted to install the basic Microsoft Office 2003 but I didn’t have the 25-character installation code (magahai, can you feel my frustration by now)
Called BrotherVincent for assistance,
Finally installed Microsoft 2003,
Fiddle-diddle with many buttons and finally got the hang of Excel,
and then it was dinner time.
Wah.
So much for finishing half in one day.
Sat there for more than 7 hours and barely a quarter of work done.
And I scheduled to blog about Bangkok after dinner so here I am, right on schedule
Finally, something I’m not rusty at!
I better get cracking before the pictures become obsolete.
Looking out the window daydreaming, I vaguely remembered my first time ever being on a plane.
Mini Thiathia was so fascinated by the view, she wondered if the plane would stop so she could hop out the window onto a fluffy white cloud. Just like in the cartoons!
The now bigger wiser Thiathia pondered over this.
As a child, I either used to be a dreamer, or borderline suicidal.

Brother Vincent & SisterDebbie.
We visited the Grand Palace on the fourth day, and being normal tourists we wore sleeveless tops and casual shorts to brave the scorching Thai sun.
Just as we’ve been wearing during the previous 3 days of shopping!
Little did we know there was a strict dress code for visiting the palace
We almost headed back to the city before we discovered that “respectable clothing” can be obtained FOC at the entrance.
Respectable, totally unglamorous, USED clothing.
I arrived at the racks and saw this ang moh lady took off her big loose slightly sweaty shirt and placed it back on the rack, EW.
Debbie and I exchanged looks of utter disgust, and carefully picked some identical shirts far away in the corner.
They didn’t look used, or at least we didn’t notice any visible sweat stains.
And it was still morning, let’s just hope they’ve been laundered the day before, and not just hung overnight to dry, ugh.

On three, point and laugh at those cluless tourists.
The place was HUGE. With large temples and elaborate monuments everywhere.
We were even given maps so we didn’t lose our way.

Model of Angkor Wat. with another temple behind it.

Siam Paragon.
SO MUCH GREEN!
Yes we were sight-seeing in a shopping mall too, does that count?
Oops, rushing off to yet another open house.
Will be back to continue blogging about shopping in Bangkok HOHOHO my favourite part
